  • Shamokin Dress Company- Commonly referred to as Shroyers, the garment factory in Bunker Hill closed in the fall of 1984 after 70 years in business. The business was originally called Climax Dress Manufacturing Company, which produced house dresses. The Shamokin Dress Company was incorporated in the 1930s. During the 1950s, the business employed more than 600 people.
