(08.05.1952) This is the home of Margaret Cowley, Craigs Patch, which is almost demolished following an explosion of a truck that caught fire on Route 44 between Mahanoy City and Brandonville on Aug. 5, 1952. This house is located about 100 yards from the roadway when the truck, reportedly owned by the Independent Explosives Co. The truck was blown to bits. Pieces of the vehicle were found 50 feet from the crater, that was 30-by-15 feet. Trees 100 yards from the roadway were burned.
