Flood of 1972 (Agnes)

Hurricane Agnes was the costliest hurricane to hit the United States at the time, causing an estimated $2.1 billion in damage. Copious amounts of rainfall caused Shamokin Creek to top its banks in Shamokin and surrounding areas. Other areas greatly impacted included Sunbury, Danville and Knoebels Amusement Resort.
