So, these are negatives I scanned from the Shamokin Citizen in 1964, however I could not locate many of the captions in hard copies of the paper, so the year is in question.

(1963) The tiny village of Alaska became a ghost town this summer when the Reading Co. ordered the six families who lived there to find other home. The coal company wrote finis to the 100-year-old village history, when it decided to strip mine the area through the village's one street.
