  • Shuman Company Dry Goods Groceries- The original wooded building was located on the southern side of Independence Street, between Rock and and Washington streets. *The hill in the background is throwing me off to this final location. Will have to investigate this more.*
  • Walnut Hosiery- Work started in May of 1973 to convert the former Walnut Hosiery Mill into the Walnut Towers Inn.

  • (1974) Walnut Towers Inn- ...The four-story, 37-room building opened July 22, 1974. The fire escape was removed and windows were made smaller.
