"Central School" - This educational building was located at the present-day location of the "S-curve" on Route 61 in Shamokin. The building was once described as the "mother" of all meeting places in Shamokin. The first Sunday School in Shamokin was organized here in 1849. The Washington Grade School, which still stands today, replaced it in 1890.
