Mount Carmel Catholic High School Yearbook (1962-63)

The 1964-65 school year marked the beginning of the operation for the Shamokin-Mount Carmel Catholic school jointure. The jointure became official on July 23, 1964, when a contract was signed by representatives of the boards of pastors from the deaneries involved. Under the school plan, only freshmen from Mount Carmel Catholic attended the first year because of limited accommodations. On Jan. 5, 1966, a groundbreaking was held for a $500,000 addition to Lourdes to accommodate more students.
