  • [Photo Left] Seen here is the Edgewood Park Scenic Railway, which bordered the lake. The Alps Ride was destroyed by wind in March of 1923.
  • [Photo Right] Here is the other half of the photo. The lake was a place for area residents to escape the city life. Swimming and especially boating were popular activities, as seen in this photo. Edgewood Park also had restaurants, beautiful walkways, and popular rides such as the Scenic Railway and School of Mines.
  • A view of the lake at Edgewood Park. The lake was formed from Furnace Run, which flows towards Shamokin. At center-right in this photo is a home-made diving board with four men on it. The white house in the center of this photo is possibly a home that once sat on Jackson Street. This photo is looking towards Shamokin. (This is now the bottom parking lot of Kemp Memorial Stadium.)
