  • No. 9 Mine Tour- Opened in 1855, the No. 9 Coal Mine, located in Lansford is the world's oldest continuously operated anthracite coal mine, according to the attraction's site. The mine closed in 1972, then re-opened as an attraction in 2002. Visitors travel 1600 feet into the mountainside, where they disembark and walk through portions of the mine.
